9ème Open International du Haut-Poitou

Haut-Poitou is a golf course I know very well having played there in the two previous tournaments with good results, it's not a golf course where anyone is going to shoot low scores, its often a case of just hanging on and grinding out pars and this week proved no different.

I arrived late Monday night with my Mum,Sister and girlfriend and my friend came to pick us up and take us to our TENT for the week, it was a cheap option and one I will not be doing again, on the flip side it was really nice having having them with me for the week and hopefully it wasn't that bad and they will maybe come back again but in a hotel this time!!!

My blogs this year seem to be pretty much the same each week, played ok in one round and then really struggled the rest, this week was no different. The course and conditions were very tough all week with strong winds and the occasional shower making scoring very difficult, I shot a 1 over 74 in the 1st round which placed me nicely in 12th and only a few back. The second was played in Gale force winds, combine that with a terrible golf game and the result was an 8 over par round of golf which once again saw me make the cut on the mark, I've lost count how many times I have made it on the number this year which just proves what a struggle its been.

My attitude was not the best in the last round and it was just a case of getting in and finished, it's not enjoyable when its a grind every round, every week and something has to change, I finished 39th for the week.

I'm going home now and having a week off from practicing, hopefully watching the Open will give me back some desire and a great second half of the season.
