Players Club

Well it's been 5 weeks since my last tournament for one reason or another, I feel like a break from golf and tournaments has really made a big difference. I travelled down with my friend from Portugal who is staying with me for 3 weeks to just caddy for him but as we stepped on the first tee somebody didn't turn up so I got a free entry and an unexpected start at the Players Club near Bristol.

The golf course was one of the best I have played, long, big undulating greens and some very tight tee shots and lots of water…..just what you need when you haven't played!!

Having no expenses for the week made such a difference and it was the first time I had enjoyed playing in a very long time, I played how i wanted to play and wasn't worried about the outcome of anything because it was a free week and just made me realise what a massive pressure I have been under this year when playing knowing that i have to make money to continue playing.

I shot a 2 over 72 in the first round which some good golf and some bad golf in there, a mixture of not playing and just some bad swings and for the first time this year I struggled on the greens, the lead was at 5 under which was a good score on a very testing long course in windy conditions.

I played very solid in the second round in very gusty wind and had 13 straight pars, and eventually signed for a 69 and a 20th place finish, although the money problems are still there lets hope I can keep the same mindset and move onto this week and another event near Bristol.

I am having a golf day at Market Rasen Golf course on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August to raise some money for the rest of the season and with some Challenge Tour events still to play and alot of other important things there is still lots to play for.

I need as many teams as possible and would really appreciate everybody's support, teams of four with a £100.00 entry per team with lots of good prizes and food after, should be a great day, anybody that is interested please contact me through here, look forward to seeing you all at Market Rasen
