The Bristol Club

So it was another trip down to Bristol for the second week in a row to the Bristol Club, a very short course with some very funky holes, it was a course that you really felt you should go very low on and if it was for better greens I think that the scoring could of gone silly.

I had a really good week practicing leading up to it and turned up really feeling good about playing, I played very nicely in the practice round so was looking forward to the start of the event.

The key to the week was staying patient, it's sometimes hard playing a course that presents alot of chances especially if you get off to a slow start.

The first round I got off to a flyer making birdies at the first 3 holes, another followed at the par 5 7th, it sounds silly but I struggled all day and finished with a 1 under 69 which I thought would be way off the pace but there wasn't many good scores and 6 under was leading.

The next day was a different story, I started off slow and again struggled a little and found myself 2 under through the front 9, I have no idea what happened on the back nine but it was some of the best golf I had played for a long time and birdies on 10,14 and an eagle on 15 saw me tied for the lead, I gave myself three great chances on the last three holes but the putts just didn't drop so i finished with a 6 under 64 and a tie for 3rd place, it was great to back in the mix and I cant wait to get back out there next week.
