Shaw Hill

Again I had another good week of practice so was really looking forward to playing again, its been really nice playing every week even if it is just 18 hole tournaments, its not where I want to be playing but I have to make the best out of what I've got.

I feel like the game is back to where it was a few years ago now and the consistency is coming back, I'm stronger and fitter than I ever have been and am really looking forward to the rest of the year.

So the practice round was a bit hit and miss, I teed of in the light rain but after three holes it was torrential, so walked the rest of the course, just as I was walking up 18 it stopped, so I got my clubs out and decided to play the back nine which looked very fiddly with lots of dog legs, it was definitely a course you needed a practice round for, even if it was in the rain!!!

You really needed to shape the ball both ways off the tee if you were attacking the holes, otherwise it was just an iron off the tee and a mid iron to the greens. I hit the ball really nice and shaped my shots great all day, it was the most control I felt I had over my golf ball in years, I hit some great shots and putted nicely again, the only disappointing thing was that the score wasn't as low as it should of been, I finished one under and in 4th place, a couple behind the winning score. It was the most pleasing round of the year for me and again another step in the right direction.

I am desperate to get back out playing Alps tour next month as my category will run out at the end of this year if I cant play the remaining events which will be a real shame as I am playing some really good golf now and feel like I can go and compete. I cant do anymore than I am doing now, I'm working five nights a week and playing an 18 hole tournament every week. Its far from ideal so if any keen golfers/businessmen would like to get involved and help me financially I would love to hear from you!!!
